It was lovely to break away to a farm that was within walking distance of the town. The lack of TV and WiFi barely bothered us. We rode bikes, fished, played board games, read, laughed and talked all day. It was great. Thank you.

Access road very poor. Not at all suitable for small cars.
Good place to go and be peaceful. Wouldn't say it's ideal for a family getaway if there are small children. The road on the way there is very rocky.

The hosting received by the hosts was amazing for keeping us up to date with what to expect. The accommodation is even more beautiful than the photos! We will definitely be back. Just a heads up for anyone who likes a shower, there are only beautiful baths in the unit's we stayed in.
We originally wanted a large house for 8 adults and 2 children. Unfortunately the big house was already fully booked, but the Cpirit staff made us a counter suggestion which worked brilliantly. They suggested we take Cottage 07 and Farmhouse studios 3 & 6. They were together, with common lapa where we had a good time. Large lawn where the children could play, nice braai area and cleaning services.

Stayed overnight on the way to Kruger, very appreciative of cleanliness, clean facilities. Here you can switch off from the mad rush.
Fisherman's Cottage no. 1 is a very beautiful place. The owner really thought of everything. It smells clean and everything is of high quality. The maintenance of the cottage does need attention. Burglar protection is strongly recommended, as well as a security gate at the door. Furthermore, it is of top quality. We will go again if the security is tightened.

Dirt road to Verbylg is poor
Well located, nice and quiet. Dirt road is very bad and can only be reached with an SUV or pick-up truck. Would not recommend driving a car. Hot water is a problem. Unit 3-4 share a geyser. Staff is very helpful. Unit has no heating appliances except a fireplace. No warm blanket or heater which is quite bad in the winter. General cleanliness and care is shabby but neat.
Sue and her husband Trevor have for sure the most beautiful farm where you can experience tranquility by yourself. She makes you feel so welcome and at home. Thank you Sue for all your efforts and for the most beautiful house.
Fantastic accommodation, very spacious, very clean, wonderful fireplace in the room and amazing view from the stoep over the valley. The hosts were super friendly and helpful. Had a fantastic time. Best place I have stayed in in Dullstroom.
Cpirit Country Haven is a very peaceful place to stay where you don't have to do anything. Many farm buildings are converted into accommodation for single persons or for groups of 8 to 12 persons. Road to accommodation is bad and after it rained even worse. Almost no network but if you want to rest and not be bothered this is the place.
The dirt road was very very bad. The unit was full of cockroaches, the crockery was dirty, there were cobwebs and dead bugs all over the house, the bathtub on the first floor's water ran to the bottom bathroom against the wall. The oven's 1 element didn't work and the bedding and towels were full of stains.
Stayed in unit no 5. We were lucky we didn't have direct neighbors. Had a great view to the dam. The place is very tranquil and relaxing. We had a great stay thank you.

Quiet, tidy little house for a relaxing weekend away with friends. The cleaning ladies were very friendly and accommodating. The provided wood for the log fire and hot water bags were also a great bonus!

I found Cpirit too far away from Dullstroom and the road was very bad. There was poor security. I was upgraded to the Barn but it was not as pretty as the house I originally chose so was disappointed with that. The house was beautifully clean and lovely to have tea/coffee/biscuits provided.
The stay in no. 5 was fantastic. The interior decoration is of high quality and the appliances very practical. The view from the giant porch is breathtaking and the supply of wood and lighters kept the fireplace crackling when the cold descended upon us. The dirt road there is quite challenging, but at a snail's pace we safely mastered it. The only negative aspect was that the trout were not biting (if there were any in the upper pond?) and the middle and lower ponds were disappointing. But, maybe next time!
We had a warm welcome from the staff. We quickly felt at home. Everything was very neat and clean. Good quality bedding. We will for sure go home there again. We had a great time. Cpirit Country Haven is truly a winner. And compliments to the staff
Pretty little house! The smaal things, like hot chocolate with marshmallow, was a pleasant surprise!
We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and busy time around Christmas. Cpirit offered us exactly that - quiet and peaceful in a beautiful setting. No one bothered us and although there were 2 other couples for the first few days we hardly saw and never heard from each other. We shared some ideas with the owners.
As a family, we had a delightful time as we spent some quality time together. No one stepped on each other's toes regarding bathrooms. Lazy hours in front of the fireplace on the very comfortable couches. We kept an eye on the weather forecast and knew to take extra firewood. The men attempted some serious fly-fishing. The trout mocked them good! Beautiful environment with a lot of birds. Kitchen well equipped. Just needed something to clean the pots and pans with and more than one tea towel, please.
The cottages are very practical and uncomplicated. You get a very personal feeling there. It does not take much to make a romantic evening with the fireplace and the weather.
It was very nice, there was a big storm and was a little worried about the hail that fell, might invest in shade netting.
It was a wonderful experience. One we won't soon forget. From the neat, warm atmosphere in which the units are equipped to the quality time you spend in the silence and tranquility of nature. The day of our arrival the owners made sure we were right to call and pass on all the arrangements and there was no uncertainty about how to make it when you got there. It felt like we got lost in a fairy tale and the reality of everyday life was left behind by the tarmac. We can't wait to go back.
It was a very tranquil stay. The place was neat and the fireplace was a lovely touch.
We had a fantastic experience at Cpirit. From the moment we walked in the door until we closed the door again on Monday, the relaxation was luxurious. The rooms were neat, well furnished and we were properly spoiled with the cookies and hot chocolate waiting for us. To top it all off, Trevor and Sue upgraded us to the larger cottage for free on Friday, which made the whole experience that much more enjoyable. Thank you very much for your hospitality! We will be back for sure!
Gravel road is a bit rough but the lodge makes up for it.
The house was nicely equipped, unfortunately it was dirty. Bedding was clean. Firewood was very wet. Dirt road was very bad. All national roads are practically bad. The community/farmers can each do their part and improve the road.
Everything was perfect. However, we would have liked it if it was more private, you can't really barbecue or hang out in private and if your neighbors are out on the porch you can hear everything. But the units were clean and lovely.
It's not our first time at Cpirit Country Haven and it won't be our last either. We have been with friends and just me and my wife. Works very well for both occasions.
Very nice stay, relaxed and the fact that there is no cell phone signal was excellent. I just caught two nice trout here in the pond closest to the houses.
No cupboard for our clothing, had to live out of suitcase, no lid on dustbin, grid in fireplace burned through, we had a power failure - only one lantern worked and you had to have your own matches/lighter. Smells from sewerage septic tank, overgrown around dams. "Trout" dam dirty, no sign of any trout. 2nd dam leaking. 3rd dam embankments overgrown. Dangerous invisible step from kitchen to sleeping area. Room far too dark. No lace curtaining so no privacy, drapes have to be kept drawn. No-one to receive us.
The accommodation is so tidy and spacious. Peaceful area, so you can totally relax and just enjoy the tranquility. Thanks so much for the hospitality we experienced there.

The staff and host are very friendly and caring and help where they can. The houses are neat and clean. The cold is not a problem with the fireplace.
Would recommend it, but travel by helicopter. The road messed up by brand new Chevy's tyres and the gravel road (7,5 km) really isn't suitable for even a 4x4 vehicle. A major nightmare. This little place is heaven, especially with the fireplace and the cold complementing each other. Very calm with lovely clean air.

My only suggestion to Cpirit is: Invest in curtains that block the morning sun a bit. Besides that we enjoyed the stay.

Cpirit is a very beautiful and peaceful getaway. Clean and tidy. I think I would have expected a bit more for what I paid. I compare it to a guest house in Clarens where we stayed last year, bed and breakfast. They now charge R450 per person per night. Differences between Clarens guest house and Cpirit are breakfast and a swimming pool. So I think R800 a night for the Cpirit studio would have been more reasonable. This is our first time in Dullstroom, but I see other self-catering places in Dullstroom that charge R800 for the same facilities. Those who ask more then offer more facilities such as TV, WiFi etc. Not that I'm saying Cpirit has to offer it all, the silence and rest is wonderful, but the price is a bit high. Also the unit (no 6) we lived in has serious roof leaks, not that we got wet. I also pointed this out to the cleaners. The road to Cpirit is certainly not easily accessible without an SUV/pickup. A ceiling fan/fan would have made the stay even better.
Cpirit Country Haven is a lovely place outside the town where you can relax and take in the silence of the beautiful scenery. It's ideal for a weekend away with friends or just with your husband or wife. All advice I can give is that a 4x4 is needed for the dirt road up there.
The only problem we had was that the wood in the rooms was very wet so we struggled to get the fire going.
It really is a piece of heaven with the beautiful scenery and comfortable accommodation, silence and no signal.
Was a bit close to number 4, but very nice and well prepared with everything needed in the kitchen.
Caught the biggest trout I have ever seen. Hospitality from the owner that you will look for far ahead, thank you very much it was a privilege to be able to spend the weekend there.
